Petrophysical NMR Spectometer
Description
The NMR using in the Wolfson Lab is a benchtop low Magnetic field NMR spectrometer, MARAN ULTRA, from Oxford Instruments, is which has been specifically designed for studies of rock core samples. It has a 51 mm probe and the standard operating frequency is 2MHz to minimise the effect of internal magnetic gradients present in rocks and to complement the operating frequency of down hole well logging tools. The MARAN Ultra is designed to offer greater flexibility for research use, offering interactive real-time control and data acquisition, large data sets, variable temperature capability, and a range of research applications including relaxation measurements, droplet size measurements, porous media studies, and diffusion measurements.
